Taylor and Grady's Place: Swim Lessons

Day 1. Grady had a great time, Taylor did not. She cried the entire time, screaming for her mommy and her Mimi. I was worried that there wasn't going to be a Day 2.

She didn't care what cool stuff was in the pool. She just wanted out!

No pictures of Day 2. Taylor informed me that morning that she would not be swimming that day, but I convinced her to put her swimsuit on to go watch Grady swim. Come lesson time, Mimi had to drop her into the pool. While she didn't cry like she did the first day, she was extremely unhappy.

Day 3. Taylor had come to the realization that she was going to swim whether she wanted to or not, so she didn't put up much of a fight. She did discover that if she told the teacher she had to potty, then she could get out of swimming for several minutes.

Could this be almost a smile? No. I think the only time she smiled that day was when the lesson was over and she was walking out of the pool.

Day 4. Taylor's teacher was out of town, so she had to go with a different instructor....a man. Boy was I worried. To my surprise, Taylor responded quite well to the male instructor. She never fussed and never tried to get out of something. She did have to "go" to the bathroom twice, although Mimi informed me that nothing happened. Taylor's such a sneaky girl.

Day 5. Poppa joined Mimi in watching the kids, and they turned into little hams!! Taylor was talking the whole time, smiling, volunteering to go first....just a completely different kid!! She even took the plunge off the diving board. I was certain she would back out of it once she saw the other kids jump, but she was such a trooper. She had no fear!
