Summer-Time Fun

Wow! It's been really hot in Lubbock lately. Unfortunately, it's been really windy and dusty as well...so we've been feeling trapped in the house!! Every chance we get, we go outside and either go to the park with Belle or we swim in our little swimming pool.

Taylor is becoming such a big girl. She walks more than she crawls. She's constantly exploring her surroundings....and to my lack of excitement, she's figuring out stuff that I was hoping we wouldn't have to worry about for some time. For instance, she's discovered how to flush the toilet. AND!! She's figured out how to pick her nose! So gross!! She was walking around all last night with her finger up her nose. Granted, she hasn't discovered that she can pull something out of it!! While at Target today, I noticed a lady giving Taylor a funny look while I was picking out cards so I looked at Taylor and she had her finger as far up in her nose as she could get it. It was so sick!

We started swimming lessons this past Monday. It's been really fun. She has no problem on her tummy....laying on her back is a completely different story. She is not very fond of it...at all!! The first time that I laid her on her back, I thought she was going to rip my hair out...she basically spassed out! By the end of the week, she's gotten more comfortable with it; however, she still does not care for it. Since Wednesday, we've been practicing blowing in their faces and dipping their heads in the water. We first had to blow in their face and then dip them down to their chin. Every time that I blew in Taylor's face, she would just laugh. The next day we dipped them down to their noses, and then today we dipped them to their foreheads. Taylor did really well! She still doesn't close her mouth (she's too busy smiling at me from blowing on her), but she does a good job at not swallowing the water.

Trying to figure out her new ladybug bottle!
She's not sure whether to drink from it or play with it.

Just chillin' with her daddy

Hanging out in her chair, waiting for her swimming pool to be filled up.

What a sweet face!

Picking out the toys that she wants to play with.

At last! In the pool and loving it!

Taylor makes this face when she doesn't get her way....which happens to be all of the time latley!!

Every day is a new adventure...today's adventure is to shove this ball in her mouth!

Waiting for swimming lessons to begin

Taylor's supposed to be reaching for her toy that's in front of her, but she sees her daddy instead!

Getting some practice time on her back (NOT her favorite!!)

Starting to get squirmy

Kicking those legs (with a little help from Mommy)
